Graduation. As a freshman, many high school students can not wait for the day that they graduate. I was one of them. I also kept that same ideal all throughout the rest of high school. Now that I am a senior I still can not wait to graduate, but I also do not believe it is actually happening, let alone in a month. Denial mixed with panic and excitement is all that I can feel right now. Thinking about it has been easy; graduate, get a job, go to college, get a career. But now that it is actually happening I am finding myself stuck like a deer in headlights as the semi-truck of adulthood comes barreling down the highway. Don’t get me wrong. I am extremely excited to start this new chapter of my life, but it doesn’t make it any less terrifying. I probably won’t truly realize it is actually happening until I walk across that stage and get my diploma. Until then, ignorance is bliss.
